Hybrid Courses (HB) combine traditional classroom components and online learning experiences and activities. They are designed for highly motivated students with good writing skills who require the flexibility of online study but also desire some in-person classroom instruction.
Hybrid classes meet onsite 50 percent of the time, with the remainder of instruction conducted over the Internet. There are two scheduling formats for hybrid courses. Evening and weekend Hybrid Classes generally meet every other week for 150 minutes. Day Hybrid Classes meet for 75 minutes per week.
In order to enroll in a Hybrid Course, students must possess basic computer skills, such as sending and receiving email and attachments, cutting and pasting, and minimizing/maximizing screens. Access to a computer and the internet is required. Students without computers may utilize those located in the Center for Self-Directed Learning in E325 or Academic Computing in D111 on the Charlestown campus.
Hybrid Courses are available on the first day of the semester. You may register for a Hybrid Course in person, or by mail, phone or fax. You must submit a current email address to Enrollment Services upon registration, or to the BHCC Online at onlinehelp@bhcc.mass.edu.
Prior to beginning your course, you must send an email confirmation of your enrollment to onlinehelp@bhcc.edu. Once you have confirmed your enrollment, your account will be created and access information will be emailed to you. You may then begin your course:
