New York Times best-selling author Nathan McCall burst onto the national
literary scene with his explosive 1995 autobiography, Makes Me Wanna Holler:
A Young Black Man in America, which tells the story of his journey from the
streets to prison to The Washington Post newsroom. He is also the author of
What’s Going On: Personal Essays. McCall resigned from The Post in 1998 to
accept an appointment as a visiting lecturer at Emory University in Atlanta. He is
currently working on another book.
